SOPHIM, leader of Squalane manufacturers in Europe and America, is a French and independent company owned by the Jacques Margnat Group.

SOPHIM is a fine chemical company specialized in the manufacture of cosmetic ingredients and is expert in natural oil derivatives.

SOPHIM has developed processes of esterification, distillation, hydrogenation, winterisation, ultrapurification, since 1988.

A new factory was built in Provence, south of France on 19,000 m² of land, with 2,400 m² of workshops, offices, laboratory.

With 70 % of its turnover at the export, Sophim is present all over the world, through selected and experimented agents.

Since 1994, innovative research has been made for the development of an olive squalane extracted from the olive oil. This important program of Research and Development has led our company to a new range of oil-free, 100 % vegetable products: Cerester®, Biophytosebum® and Phytowax®. Those innovating products are protected by a patent.

With high-performance equipments for hydrogenation, Sophim produces also Hydrogenated polyisobutene, and is leader for the production of this product for cosmetics in Europe.
