Structure of the body skin

he skin is the largest organ of the human body, accounting for 16% of its total weight. Its chemical composition is as follows: water (about 70%), proteins (about 27.5%), lipids (about 2%) and minerals and trace elements (0.5%).

Like the skin on the face, the skin on the body has a hydrolipidic film on its surface which acts as a protector of our body against aggression. However, unlike the skin on the face, it is thicker and therefore requires special care.

Rubbing of clothes, exposure to the cold or sun, hot showers, aggressive products, hair removal… there are many factors that erode the hydrolipidic film on the surface of the skin of our body.

Our ingredients for formulas dedicated to body care

Our squalane-based ingredients can be good allies when it comes to repairing our body’s lipid barrier, and are particularly suitable in rich formulas. Squalane’s mineral counterpart, hydrogenated polyisobutene, will add softness and sensoriality to a cosmetic formula in similar proportions and at a lower cost.

Vegetable oils and cosmetic vegetable butters will provide intense hydration to the body skin. Their texture is adapted to the different seasons, plant butters will fit perfectly into a rich and comforting moisturizing formula ideal for cold weather, while oils will be ideal in a regenerating after-sun care for example.

Our Biophytosebum ingredient, based on vegetable squalene, is a recognised emollient ideal for body care formulas. Repair and hydration are its main benefits. This natural alternative to silicones allows us to offer a more natural formula.

Our range of natural waxes is perfect for rich formulas, adapted to the body’s skin. They thicken a formula and add texture, while providing a unique sensory experience, essential for body care. Of plant origin, they are a very good alternative to animal and synthetic waxes.
